This was always the nagging issue for people looking for a video camera that will allow them to continue with the adventurous madness… and be able to take it with them on the go. Biggest improvement is probably the lens which is 2x Sharper and pulls in much more light in gloomy situations – beating out the major bug bear of the previous GoPro Hero model. Still Shooting modes are: Single, 10 photos in 1 sec; Time Lapse: every 0.5, 1, 2, 10, 30 and 60 seconds. there is also a Self-Timer mode on the Outdoor Hero 2.

medium (127º) FOV and narrow FOV (90º) FOV at 30fps.
960p 1280×960px with wide angle (170º) Field of View at 48fps or 30fps.
720p 1280×720 with wide angle (170º) Field of View; medium (127º) FOV; narrow (90º) FOV; at 30fps or 60fps.
WVGA 848×480 Wide (170º) FOV at 120fps or 60fps
The user Interface on the HD Outdoor Hero 2 is a language based interface – still no pretty icon driven menus. Indicators for the status of the camera are 4 LED Lights (on each side). Inputs now include; a Mini-HDMI port replacing the component port, a Composite port, USB, SD and the HERO port. There’s also a 3.5mm External Stereo Mic port.
Battery Life (in 720p/60 mode) is 2.5 hrs and simultaneous record + charge, when plugged into a USB power source is supported. It will use the Wi-Fi Remote Control. Other support includes Wi-Fi video preview + playback; Wi-Fi streaming to web; camera control via smartphone, and a tablet and computer app to let you ogle your adventures when you get back to base.
